Overall Experience: As we walked around the area, it was clear that the fast paced environment catered to tourists and individuals with large incomes. As high school students both with minimum wage jobs, it was hard to fit in by shopping and eating at the popular places around the Magnificent mile and Streeterville. In addition, the large number of extravagant hotels showed us that the people going to these shops and restaurants were tourists or business(wo)men who could afford to spend $500-$1000 a night in these hotels. However, around the North and Clybourn we found a variety of shops that could cater the needs of everyone. Varying from Starbucks and Crate and Barrel to Aldi and the Salvation Army there were numerous shops and places that could accommodate to many people. Finally, as we traveled around the area of once Cabrini Green, we were able to see the growing change of community as new apartments and buildings were being built. While walking around all of Near North side, we felt as though we were in two different neighborhoods as we traveled from around Michigan Ave to Orleans St.
